**Since deaths were not reported until 1878 and death certificates were not a law until 1916, there are other good sources for deaths such as the following files to click on.

Death Dates Bond Book 1849-1861

1850 Census Mortality Index - (There are no death certificates for 1850 so the 1850 Mortality Noncensus schedule could help researchers.)

1863-1870 Death Dates in Decedents Intestate (without a will) Register

Old Settlers' Necrological List 1879-1899 (Altho the two listed below are included in this one, some are missing in this file so check the following two files, too.)

Contact the county courthouse (click on this line) to get a death certificate if you find a death after 1878. (Note: There may or may not be a death certificate before 1916.)
