Genealogical and Historical Society
This burial site was badly damaged during construction of a pond
in 1971. One upright tombstone under two oak trees can be seen from Illinois
Route 104 which is a few yards north of this burial site. Several tombstones
disappeared during construction of the pond and of the three remaining,
one is in excellent condition, one is broken into two parts and one is
badly smashed but still legible. The city of Jacksonville can be seen from
this cemetery which is in the southeast quarter of the southeast quarter
of Section 10 in Township 15 N Range 11 W.
