Cemetery transcription by members of the Jacksonville Area
Genealogical and Historical Society
Not a cemetery in the true sense of the word, this was merely the
case of an infant being buried at the parents' residence, 820 South East
Street in Jacksonville. There is no visible clue to the grave of the Negro
infant who was buried by the father. "Directory of Jacksonville and
Morgan County, 1884-85" listed the only people named Gibbons who lived
on East Street as Herman Gibbons and Miss Esther Gibbons, both colored,
residing at 820 South East Street.
Words in brackets [ ] or parenthesis ( )are not on stone.
