Carns Cemetery

Cemetery transcription by members of the Jacksonville Area Genealogical and Historical Society


A Wisconsin descendant of the Carns family asked us to search for this family cemetery in 1972. Land records reveal that Andrew Carns set off 24 square feet as a burial ground on or near the west line of the property described as follows: the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of section 7 in Township 14 N Range 9 W. A discussion with Howard Becker, present owner of the land, revealed that there have not been any marked graves on the land for the fifty years he has been on the farm. Mr. Becker does not know the location of the cemetery on his farm.
